Cleaning your red bedding can be a timely task. With multiple pieces of your bedding set, there are many different sets of instructions to follow. To make thing simple, we have made a list of tips and guidelines for each type of piece of your red bedding set.
Bedspreads and Blankets: You will need to clean your bedspread before they become soiled. Make sure to treat stains with a spray prewash. Cleaning your bedspread is simple; the most important thing about it is to check if your bedspread bleeds. If it does, you will need to have it dry-cleaned. After you check this, you can just clean the bedspread in a washing machine. Afterwards, dry the bedspread in a dryer or on a clothes line.
Blankets are a bit different. Most can be washed or hand-washed, but if you want to keep it in its best shape, you will need to vacuum them to remove dust, place them on a clothesline to freshen them out, and treat stains and spots before you wash them.
Comforters and Quilts: If your comforter or quilt is in good condition, then you can just simply place it in the washing machine, and dryer. When doing this, use an all-purpose detergent, and use cold water. If your comforter or quilt is fragile, you will need to hand-wash them in a bathtub.
Mattresses: To keep your mattress in top shape, you should turn the mattress over every month. Mattresses work better with even wear on both sides. In addition, to prevent soiling, cover the mattress with rubberized or quilted covers. When you clean the mattress, do not let it get very wet, and make sure the bed is completely dry before making it.
Pillows: Pillows require regular cleaning just like the rest of the red bedding set. To clean the pillow, you will need to read the care instructions on it carefully as depending on the filling, instructions can vary. In addition, you will want to protect each pillow with a zip-on cotton or polyester cover. You will also want to air them out once a month by placing them near an open window.
